About Multicultural Connections
“Multicultural Connections” is a one-day festival celebrating Canada’s diverse cultures, ethnicities, languages, and landscapes. This event will feature a variety of activities designed to educate, entertain, and inspire attendees of all ages.
What to Expect
- Cultural Booths: Explore booths showcasing different cultures, their traditions, and unique aspects.
- Performances: Enjoy traditional music, dance, and performances on the main stage, featuring local and emerging talent.
- Interactive Displays: Engage with hands-on cultural activities, such as a blanket ceremony, dance workshops, and cooking demonstrations.
- Workshops: Participate in workshops on Indigenous and immigrant languages, and learn through virtual tours of Canada's diverse geography.
- Food Stalls: Savor the taste of Canada's culinary variety with food stalls offering a range of dishes.
- Artisan Market: Discover handmade cultural crafts from local artisans.
- Educational Talks: Attend talks and discussions on multiculturalism and inclusion, with segments focused on youth.
- Language Corner: Experience mini language lessons and poetry, highlighting Canada's linguistic diversity.
Opening Ceremony
The event will begin with a protocol ceremony honoring First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples, featuring a land acknowledgment, blessings, and performances. Community leaders will participate, symbolizing the unity and respect central to the event.
Closing Ceremony
The festival will close with a ceremony reflecting unity and pride, featuring prominent Canadian acts and a shared moment of gratitude.
