Thrift and Fund

I am honoured to be a part of Low Entropy as an intern throughout my journey to graduate with a major in psychology with a minor in counselling. My instructor at my University had recommended Low Entropy as a place where I could do my practicum. Throughout my time here, I got to appreciate the value and experience of volunteering. After my practicum term came to an end, I was given the opportunity to continue at Low Entropy as an intern.

Thanks to Low Entropy, I was able to foster and build on my communication skills, build on my network, and even pick up on new responsibilities and skills, such as coordinating our lovely volunteers at Thrift & Fund. I can express myself here at Low Entropy and I am extremely grateful to the team here at Low Entropy as well as our wonderful volunteers for the opportunity I was given.

I am a practicum internship student with a deep interest in community care, connection, and helping others feel supported and valued. Being part of the Low Entropy Foundation has been a meaningful part of my journey, because it allows me to contribute to work that creates a positive impact in people’s lives.

I enjoy being organized, learning new things, and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes so programs and services can reach the people who need them most. I value kindness, teamwork, and creating welcoming spaces where people feel respected and included.

This experience has given me the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful to be Part of an environment that reflects the values I care about.

As a practicum intern, I have been grateful for the opportunity to learn through meaningful community-based work. My time with the Low Entropy Foundation has allowed me to be part of programs that focus on connection, inclusion, and support for people in the community. Through this experience, I have been able to contribute to work that brings people together and helps create a welcoming space where everyone feels respected and valued.

Through the Bridging Generations program, I have been able to support a program that brings youth and seniors together in a welcoming and respectful environment. This experience has helped me understand the importance of connection, storytelling, and creating spaces where people from different generations can learn from one another.

During my practicum, I have enjoyed helping with outreach, organization, communication, and program preparation. I value teamwork, kindness, and the opportunity to support meaningful community-based work behind the scenes.

Being part of the Low Entropy Foundation has allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. I am grateful for the experience and for the chance to contribute to a program that reflects my passion for helping others and building stronger community connections.

Claire DeWitt

I completed my Social Justice Practicum through Adler University at Low Entropy, and it was a wonderful experience. I appreciated the opportunity to strengthen my communication skills with diverse populations while also developing my social media skills. I also had the pleasure of attending several workshops, including the Women’s Rising Workshop in December, which highlighted the strong sense of community Low Entropy has created.

Everyone I interacted with was exceptionally kind, welcoming, and supportive, and I am truly grateful for the experience.

Kriti Monga

I am a Master’s of Counselling Psychology: School and Youth student at Adler University, and I completed my Social Justice Practicum at Low Entropy.

During my practicum, I improved my skills in being a mentor and creating accessible, youth-oriented program materials. One of the highlights of my experience was attending the Make A Fuss Movement workshop. It was incredibly empowering, and watching the community come together with so much openness and care made the experience especially meaningful.

This practicum has been an eye-opening and meaningful learning experience, and I’m truly grateful for the conversations and connections I’ve made along the way. I’m especially thankful to my fellow practicum peers Marcel and Claire for their support, and Ness for making this journey so meaningful.
